The purpose of the Henderson Libraries Foundation is to support Henderson Libraries in its mission and to improve financial support, particularly through gifts, grants, and bequests. Our Foundation is passionate about finding resources to assist and promote interest in and development of Henderson Libraries.

Mark McGinty is a lifelong resident of Henderson and has spent forty-one years in the architectural and construction industry in the valley. Mark and his wife of thirty-eight years raised two children in Henderson and enjoy watching two grandchildren growing up. Mark enjoys serving his community by serving on boards and community groups that enhance living in southern Nevada. Mark is a current member of Henderson Redevelopment Advisory Commission, Henderson Library past board member, Rotary past president, Henderson Boys and Girls Club past Board Member and longtime member of Henderson Chamber of Commerce’s.

Mary Beth Hartleb is the founder and CEO of Prism HR Consulting, a Henderson-based human resources consulting firm she has led for more than 22 years. She holds a J.D., SPHR, and CPC, and brings more than 40 years of experience in human resources, executive coaching, and workplace wellness. A recognized leader in Nevada’s professional community, she is a former President of the Southern Nevada SHRM Chapter and former Director of the Nevada State SHRM Council, as well as a published author, columnist, and frequent speaker. Deeply committed to community service and philanthropy, she has previously served on the boards of the Neon Museum, the Girl Scouts, the Henderson Chamber of Commerce, and the Chamber’s IMPAC board, which she chaired, and is the founder of The Romeo Fund, which helps families access affordable veterinary care for their pets through the Heaven Can Wait organization. She brings that same spirit of access and opportunity to the Henderson Libraries Foundation Board, believing libraries are among the most democratic institutions a community has — free to everyone, open to everyone. Originally from New York City, Mary Beth has called Henderson home for over 30 years. She is an avid world traveler, having visited over 70 countries and counting, and shares her home with her two Alaskan Klee Kai pups.

Dr. Ingrid Oakley-Girvan received her Ph.D. from Stanford University School of Medicine, her M.P.H. from Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine and her B.S. from the University of Michigan. She was consulting faculty at Stanford and has been part of the Stanford Cancer Institute and the Canary Center at Stanford for Cancer Early Detection, served in the United States Peace Corps in Africa, was an SVP at a Clinical Trials Medical Startup, and is the Founder and Director of the Data and Technology Proving Ground at the Public Health Institute (PHI). She has several patents and has published extensive clinical trial and research work in mobile and digital technology, particularly in oncology, device utilization, and behavioral health interventions. Her work focused on breast, ovarian, prostate and thyroid cancer in addition to investigating biomarkers – both digital and lab bench based. A hallmark of her career has been combining multi-disciplinary studies and technology with academic-business partnerships to rapidly advance a direct-to-patient approach to improve population and individual health. She has been dedicated to promoting well-being and quality of life for people in the United States and beyond. She loves to read and is part of several book clubs. She’s made lifelong friends through the public library and feels lucky to be a part of such a vibrant and generous community. Her ongoing passion is to help children and adults thrive and learn more about all that the library has to offer.

Marcie Smedley is the Executive Director of the Henderson Libraries. She has worked in a variety of positions with the library district since 2003, and is passionate about literacy and advocating for libraries in our community. She holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communication Studies from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and a Masters in Library Science from Texas Woman’s University. Marcie is a member of the American Library Association (ALA), the Public Library Association (a division of ALA), United for Libraries (a division of ALA), the Nevada Library Association, and the Mountain Plains Library Association.<br />
Marcie was born and raised in Henderson, Nevada, where she continues to enjoy living with her husband and daughter.
